The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should possess:


  • Moderate excel skills
  • Experience with purchasing and/or procurement
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Strong people skills with the ability to be a team player
This position may be eligible for remote work (must live in Utah) with some in office work required, located at the Taylorsville State Office Building 4315 S. 2700 West Taylorsville, Ut.

Example of Duties

Principal Duties
Purchasing agent assists DTS in fulfilling it's mission by:

  • Purchasing of products and services for the entire department
  • Ensuring that we adhere to all State Purchasing rules
  • Provide information to customers on purchasing processes and procedures
  • Recommends possible options to increase purchasing power

Typical Qualifications

  • Familiarity with financial software systems
  • Understanding of the fundamental principles of procurement
  • Experience performing purchasing duties for an organization

Supplemental Information

  • Employment contingent on passing a drug screening and a background check.
  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
