Job description

The purpose of this position is to support UDAR in their mission to advance the Chancellor’s priorities and UCSF’s goals via superior communications services and fundraising. This position reports to the Director of Operations and is a member of the UDAR operations and administration team.

As a member of the Operations and administrative team, this position is cross trained to perform multiple responsibilities that enable the mission of UDAR to be carried out in a professional and timely manner. In addition, the incumbent provides executive assistance to the Operations Analyst and the Director of Operations.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description

The UCSF Foundation and the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) are responsible for fostering and strengthening the campus outreach efforts to UCSF constituents and for garnering private support for the campus and the Medical Center. In raising private support, UDAR identifies, qualifies, solicits and stewards donors for the schools, medical centers, departments and programs on campus; accepts and administers all private gifts to the university through The Regents or the UCSF Foundation; and manages all alumni relations activities, campus support group activities and campus events. The UDAR office staffs the UCSF Foundation. The office is also responsible for the design and implementation of fundraising campaigns for UCSF.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • One year of experience with budgets and financial reporting/analysis in a university or similar field
  • Analytical skills necessary to evaluate the quality and cost effectiveness of purchasing options.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of basic contracts
  • Working level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some knowledge of the organization's departments and operations required in order to meet their procurement needs
  • Understands ERP / financial systems (such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Banner, etc.)
  • Experience working with fundraising professionals in a fast-paced flexible environment
