Job description

As the purchasing specialist, you will work to secure the raw materials required for production of Sartorius products at the best price and at the time they are needed.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Daily purchasing including purchase orders, cross-company purchase orders and required follow up to confirm and track ship dates, and push out, pull in, or cancel orders as needed
  • Communication with vendors and sister sites to develop and maintain effective relationships, obtain details for open order reports, expedite orders based on production needs, facilitate vendor returns, etc.
  • Monitor raw material requirements and communicate issues and shortages
  • Escalate critical vendor/supply issues to PSNL
  • Monitor and update safety stock for raw materials
  • Update raw material lead times
  • Create and maintain vendor and raw material information in SAP
  • Provide vendor information for NOX site
  • Coordinate samples, pickups, and drop offs with vendors
  • Obtain certifications of authenticity/conformity for incoming materials
  • Provide reports and information as requested
  • Support sister sites with raw material set up, vendor information, NOX lead times, etc.
  • Approve stock sharing with sister sites, provide transfer pricing, coordinate drop shipments
  • Internal, external, vendor, production, ops meetings, etc. as required
  • Participate in on-site and/or company-wide initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant purchasing working experience
  • Academic degree in business administration or related field preferred
  • Proven knowledge in the field of purchasing
  • Strong, effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven software skills to include Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and SAP preferred

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
