Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Auxiliary Services, the Analyst is responsible for overseeing contracted dining operations and for analysis and reporting necessary for improving business practices and developing strategic plans.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyze and reconcile dining program data critical to the department’s assessment of Dining Services’ estimated $25 million programs by generating reports, summarizing findings, and offering comprehensive action plans for areas of improvement.
- Manage W&M dining and retail services contracts by ensuring compliance with agreements, including those related to facilities, sanitation, and safety; providing on-site inspections.
- Oversee dining services budget, expenditures, and financial resources by coordinating with the Associate Director for Finance & Administration.
- Help with the selection of and ultimate oversight of dining operations software and systems including those selected for quality control audits and surveys (examples of software/systems may include CBORD, GSGOLD Meal/Access Card system, Oracle Micros, Infor, Agilysys, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Significant experience (typically 4 to 8 years) directly related to the position such as experience with dining quality control, as a data analyst, in hospitality, or similar relevant experience.
- Experience with financial management and budgeting.
- Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to query, generate, and analyze financial reports.
- Experience evaluating data to determine inconsistencies or areas of improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 365 products (ie. Word, Excel, Outlook.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience within Auxiliary Services or in Higher Education.
- Experience with dining operations, including overseeing the equipment and facilities.
- Experience using a procurement system, work order system, and/or Banner Finance.
- Knowledge of meal plans and dining contract management.
- Experience with asset management.
Advertised Pay Range
Up to $79,000, commensurate with experience.
