We are seeking a Quality Control Lead at Great Dane Powder Coating. We are counting on the Quality Control Lead to ensure our processes and training result in consistently meeting customer needs, while achieving production and profitability goals. A successful lead will take initiative, work as a member of the management team, act professionally, and drive continuous improvement. The QC lead will be a part of the powder coating production team. The hours of operation are from 7:00AM - 3:00PM Monday through Friday and we are located in Loyalhanna, PA.

The Quality Control Lead is responsible for setting and monitoring safety. The QC Lead will understand customer quality requirements and the needs of the GD Powder Coat team to meet KPIs while ensuring compliance to our quality management system. Having full working knowledge of all equipment and components, the QC Lead will communicate with and train new and experienced team members. He or she will serve as a resource to all team members, and when necessary, work on the line. The QC Lead has the authority to stop production, or distribution of a product and work with the team to address any quality issues/concerns. At times, there will be direct interaction with customers to address new requirements, and/or quality issues.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

· Represent and have accountability for quality management

· Control quality of information and manage the Great Dane Quality Management System.

· Ensure communication across all lines (masking, hanging, coating, packaging, etc.) and identify and address line delays immediately.

· Support the sales manager and plant manager when necessary to engage with customers on quality requirements and/or quality issues.

· Ensure product requirements/item detail sheets are accurate and complete.

· Maintain materials, equipment and instruments related to production and testing of product in conformance with all regulatory codes and specifications.

· Ensure procedures are followed when correcting a quality issue and approving the final CLEAR TO SHIP on outgoing product.

· Full working knowledge of coating operations and complete all training as required.

· Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

· Lead monthly quality management meetings

· Participate in production meetings.

· Lead the effort to get rejected parts ready for production, may require sanding or masking parts.

· Work on production lines as needed, when a quality issue arises, to help meet customer dates, or if a key team member is off.

· Enter data into our internal operation system to support production and communicate quality requirements to line workers.

· Development and delivery of training for new employees using established training modules.

· Excellent time management skills.

Preferred requirements:

● Bachelor’s Degree in related field is desirable or equivalent

● Experience in Quality Control

● A Quality Management Certification is desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
