Job description

The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards, fabrication practices, welding processes and general mechanical aptitude is essential.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a key contributor to the NOV Cellar Tech manufacturing operations in the mid-west.
  • Read technical drawings and instructions to comprehend the quality requirements for the products and materials
  • Accept or reject products or materials based on their conformance to requirements.
  • Select representative samples of in-process as well as finished goods and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records documenting the results of the inspections.
  • Verify non-compliant material is segregated from production material.
  • Verify corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Communicate with manufacturing operations and engineering operations regularly.
  • Verify the manufacturing schedules are being met by the vendors.
  • Verify materials being shipped and received match the BOLs as well as the PO requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate shipping resources and other logistics requirements as needed.
  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Must possess excellent communication skills Must be able to read, interpret, and review drawings
  • Must possess valid driver license. CDL is a plus
  • Must be able to work independently without supervision
  • 3-5 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3-5 years of fabrication and welding experience in a heavy plate manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. ie. Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Technician is a plus
  • 2D / 3D CAD Experience is a plus.
