Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs routine inspection of in-process or finished parts for defects and deviations according to customer specifications or applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collect sample of parts, perform assigned inspection tasks using various types of equipment such as calipers, gauges, or electronic equipment such as CMMs/Zeiss and ensure that documentation is complete and accurate.
- Read blueprints and specification.
- Monitor operations to ensure they meet production standards.
- Work with Operators, Techs, Supervisors and Engineers to identify and resolve issues with parts.
- Operate electronic inspection equipment and software.
- Perform inspections on equipment and assist in calibration as needed by notifying the appropriate individuals.
- Accept or reject finished items.
- Support the QMS system by ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination or education and experience.
- 3 years' minimum experience in an ISO certified manufacturing facility, injection molding and/or medical device preferred.
- Previous experience using handheld and electronic inspection equipment such as calipers, gauges and CMMs/Zeiss.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints, work instructions, manuals, records and all other documents relevant to the position.
- Strong communication skills, verbally and written - this include interpersonal and group communication abilities.
- Reliable transportation.
- Process driven - ability to follow strict adherence to systems and/or rules.
- Requires precision in performing specialized and detail-oriented tasks.
- Ability to be conscientious, yet efficient, in approaching tasks.
- Approaches work in a disciplined matter through factual approaches and choosing courses of action that align with processes in place.
- Requires an analytical perspective for making black or white decisions.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Previous experience with IQMS preferred.
- ASQ Quality Inspector Certification is a plus.
Physical Parameters:
- Frequent movement through out the facility and between buildings to collect samples and transport finished goods.
- Frequent lifting of bags, and /or bins of parts (generally 5-10lbs or less) and up 25 lbs.
- Frequent use of hand-held and electronic inspection equipment.
- Frequent exposure to noises from press machines on the production floor.
- Quality lab is temps controlled but is generally on the cooler side
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour
