Broadcom is a market leading semiconductor company based in San Jose, California. The Wireless Connectivity group in Broadcom is seeking a Software Test and Automation Engineer in the WLAN/BTLTE Coex Software Verification team. The job involves development of highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable test automation solutions towards testing of Embedded Wireless LAN and Bluetooth products. You will also be required to perform manual tests for different test areas including feature/functional, performance and stability/stress. We are looking for a self-motivated and dynamic individual with strong technical and interpersonal skills who can contribute in a team environment.
Job Responsibilities:
The job involves testing of Wireless LAN / BT products and validate set of features for various software releases
Contribute to test automation development for test coverage, cycle time, and test efficiency improvements
Development of test strategies for functional, stress and system level characterization
Analyze large amounts of data and help derive insights and value from them
Identify opportunities for process, tools and test methodology improvements and drive those from concept to implementation
Perform quantitative & qualitative analysis of results; create summary presentations
Conduct test plan reviews; incorporate internal and external feedback into test plan for flawless test execution.
Work effectively in a team environment, including with software/hardware development engineers, QA engineers and technical marketing engineers
Diligently work towards reproducing customer issues
Qualifications
BS + 0-2 years of experience in Electrical, Electronics, computer engineering or related field
Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP) , wireless (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) basics is plus
Hands on experience with Windows xp/ Linux OS / OSX.Experience with traffic test tools/Wireless test tools/Sniffers like Ixia (Chariot) , iPerf, airopeek/Wireshark, Veriwave, Azimuth etc
Practical experience in data analysis
Demonstrated experience with script languages for test automation [ Python or TCL or Perl]
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse set of internal and external customers as well as vendors, having varying levels of technical expertise
Demonstrate strong design and test skills, passion for quality and attention to detail
Ability to grasp high level strategic concepts and translate to physical solutions
Experience working in a Customer facing team is a plus
Ability to think outside the box to find an optimal solution to a problem
Additional Job Description:
Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $63,000.00 - $105,000.00. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
