  • POSITION SUMMARY: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30A-4P
    • The practice of radiography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. A radiographer performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or by the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Performs radiography procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Radiography Practice Standards and the ASRT Code of Ethics.
    • Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols.
    • Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the APIE model.
    • Completes annual mandatory education on time.
    • Performs venipuncture.
    • Prepares, administers, and documents activities related to contrast (medication).
    • Assists the licensed practitioner in the completion of interventional procedures.
    • Prepares, administers, and documents activities related to contrast (medication).
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
    • Demonstrates an understanding of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology, pharmacology, computer technology, basic patient care and assessment techniques, radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection, and medical terminology.
    • Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
    • Maintains knowledge about radiation protection, safety and current scanning protocols.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
    • Education: Completion of formal Radiological Technologist training from an AMA approved school required.
    • Experience: Twenty-four month clinical internship required.
    • Certification/Licensure: Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Required. Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ARRT certification required. ARRT eligible candidates will be considered for hire with the expectation that certification will be obtained within 12 months of hire.
