It Takes THE VILLAGE is a therapeutic community for families needing extra help in their home, community and educational settings. It Takes THE VILLAGE is a collaborative and inclusive clinic specializing in 1:1 therapy, family counseling, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and behavior consultation and intervention.

THE VILLAGE is looking for energetic people committed to helping children & teens with special needs, both as a family support consultant and as a 1:1 Aide in the public education setting.

If you are good at encouraging, redirecting, and advocating for students, this could be a great job for you. You could be the perfect person to join our team and help support students as they return to the classroom! Children and teenagers with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other diagnoses need your help to succeed during this time when all consistency in their life has been altered.

You will have access to the supervisor for consultation and support, so that you can do your job well and feel good about the help you are giving the students you are working with.

CURRENT NEEDS, with opportunity to grow & expand caseload/hours:

• Client: Elementary to High School ages
• Schedule: Approximately 15-30 hours/week to start M-F hours vary between 8:00am to 3:30 pm. If you would prefer additional work hours, we may have more clients to add to your caseload soon. We also have availability for substitute positions.
• Location: Support at school and in client home (El Dorado Hills to Placerville)

COMPENSATION:

VERY competitive compensation, based on level of education and experience, $17-$21/hour.

ALL EMPLOYEES NEED:

• Reliable transportation
• Ability to move and be active for at least 20 minutes at a time
• Ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, twist and lift 50 lbs
• DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background Clearance, TB Clearance, and Immunization records prior to starting work. Employee would be responsible for this cost.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• HS diploma or GED
• Mental health experience and/or ABA experience a plus.
• Familiarity with IEPs and BIPs and working in the classroom/school environment.

Pay: $18 - $22 / hour
