Assists with the planning and conducting of an organized program of activities designed to meet the physical, mental and social well-being of residents on their assigned units. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the primary functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements to safely perform the primary functions of the job.

1. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
2. Will work throughout the facility but frequently work in the Recreation room, day rooms and resident rooms.
3. May work outside the facility in community settings such as restaurants, shopping malls, and recreational areas.
4. Subject to frequent interruptions and the ability to respond appropriately to unexpected issues.
5. Must possess the ability to work tactfully and patiently with residents, family, visitors and staff.
6. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Commissioners, Department Heads, Elected Officials, Employees, and the General Public.
7. Must possess creativity, initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm.
8. Must be able to communicate and interact with staff, residents, and families in a professional manner.
9. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently throughout the day. Must be able to properly secure residents in the facility van and bus.
10. Must possess basic computer skill such as navigating the internet, e-mail, and word documents.
11. Must possess reading and writing skills and the ability to express, receive or exchange ideas verbally and in writing.
12. Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the Mountain View Community principles, policies and procedures and follow all established safety procedures, policies, and general safety practices when performing duties.
13. Maintain neat, professional appearance and ethics. Physical Requirements

Possess manual dexterity to operate equipment.
May be subject to exposure to infectious diseases.
Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds regularly, 75 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to push a wheelchair up to 350 pounds.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and in an emergency evacuation of residents must be able to safely push an occupied wheelchair for a minimum of 500 feet.
Must be able to stand and walk up to 100% of the work day.
Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or excessive stress.
Ability to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, in potentially hazardous weather conditions.
Must have good hearing, good vision, and be able to speak clearly.
Pre and/or Post employment drug screening may be required.
