Position Overview:

The North America Design to Value leader will drive initiatives throughout lifecycle to align customer value and product cost. The role serves as the North America key driver in the establishment of a supportive Design to Value team and in the revitalization of a strong customer-based cost culture. Point of reference for product cost management in the region, he/she will lead the cost analyst team responsible for the analytical part of the product cost management in close collaboration with Cost Manager, commodity experts, and cost specialists.

Technical leader and an essential partner for all stakeholders, he/she will drive activities through GPD ensuring that product cost is aligned with the value perceived by customers.

Offer in-house support for Design to Value:
  • Selects the programs where D2V workshop should be performed with GPP leader and sets-up realistic and challenging objectives
  • Prepares the workshops and ensures the quality and readiness of inputs
  • Facilitates the workshops, ensures the respect of methodology and the success of the workshops
  • Measure and reports D2V initiatives impacts
  • Prepares and leads training to D2V methodology to sensibilize stakeholders to link customer value and product cost

Support and guide the Cost Manager with the definition of the early top-down target cost per module.

Provide Cost Analytic, through the cost analyst team, with insight into what is driving the cost, providing data mining for cost tracking and cost reduction ideation.

Deliver detailed Cost Simulations for parts and tooling, with insight into design trade-offs and best practices. Develop and retain vertical knowledge in latest technologies of production processes, to allow for best design choices and supplier selection.

Select and develop the right competences inside the Cost Analyst team.

Develop agency support for surge capacity.

Collaborate with PM&T expert to evolve and integrate the Processes, Methods, and Tools to maximize efficiency of the operational teams ensuring a consistent approach to cost management.


Position Pays $120,000 to $183,000. This position is eligible for the company bonus plan ( Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or business or related field
  • 10 or more years experience in product development or product cost management
  • 5 or more years experience with cross-functional team collaboration
  • 5 or more years experience with cost management in any field (engineering, finance, manufacturing)
