Regional Safety and Security Manager

Radial, the leader in omnichannel commerce technologies and operations has an exciting opening for a Regional Safety and Security Manager. Role Summary:
The Safety & Security Manager is a key leadership position reporting to the Director, Global Safety and Security. The position is responsible for the oversight, supervision and management of programs, corporate policies, environmental, health, safety, security and emergency response operations within a defined region of the Fulfillment network. In addition, the Regional Safety & Security Manager works in concert with the local leadership team to drive the Safety and Security Mission and the Radial Mission, Vision and Values criteria.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all Safety & Security staff in their performance of security operations and environmental health and safety tasks while utilizing sound judgment in day-to-day execution
- Takes the lead in accomplishing Safety & Security goals and objectives at his/her given location(s).
- Regular cross-functional interaction within the Safety & Security organization as well as Fulfillment Operations groups
- Ensure full compliance and uniformity to corporate policies and procedures, as well as meeting or exceeding audits/regulations compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations
- Serve as a conduit between local management and corporate Safety & Security senior leadership to maintain global policies in tandem with local site-specific considerations
- Foster teamwork and instill a positive working environment to deliver the highest levels of customer service, professionalism, and competency
- Establish a relationship of trust with local Human Resources regarding safety, investigations, and workplace violence prevention
- Maintain situational awareness of natural and man-made events which could potentially compromise the safety and security of personnel, business operations and the critical infrastructure
- Understand fundamental concepts of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Emergency Response, and the Incident Command system; Participate, lead and maintain local emergency action plans
- Manage site level emergency programs including maintaining required documentation and administration of Emergency Response and Building Evacuation Teams (ERT & BET)
- Establish working relationships with outside community stakeholders including Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, and other local agencies
- Manage government agency compliance visits (OSHA, FDA, EPA, FAA, DOT)
- Ensure the accurate reporting and recording of all incidents and issues within our reporting repository
- Analyze and identify trends as it relates to injuries, theft, fraud, and workplace violence to implement effective reduction plans
- Personally conduct (or delegate), the Safety & Security segment of New Hire Orientation to ensure each new employee understands their role for safety and security at Radial
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to minimize workplace hazards and risks
- Understand and be able to implement OSHA required standards to ensure compliance
- Ensure quality control of uniform standards, equipment, supplies and tools necessary to perform all required job functions
- Promote and lead implementation of the employee health and safety programs to ensure assigned locations conform to government safety and health regulations including the proper reporting of injuries, illness, and safety hazards, while establishing the health and safety program locally
- Drive local injury reduction plans to meet reduction goals that align with corporate goals
- Develop strategies for loss prevention and address physical security vulnerabilities
- Liaise with vendor staff, participate in meetings and partner with vendor representatives to ensure proper utilization and execution of contract security programs
- Provide budgetary inputs and assist the Director, Global Safety and Security in the efficient management of allocated site budgets.
- Lead internal investigations for all responsible sites to include Theft, Fraud, Workplace Violence and other suspicious incidents and partner with local HR Business Partner throughout the life cycle of the investigation
- Manage other vendor relationships, perform other duties and special project functions as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of OSHA, FAA, DOT, EPA, NFPA, and IATA regulations and requirements.
- Possess knowledge of emergency preparedness and response protocols.
- 10 Hour OSHA General Industry course preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental, health, safety and/or Security preferably in warehousing, distribution, or transportation.
- Strong organizational, grammar and writing skills.
- Proven ability to lead others to deliver results
- Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage, motivate employees and communicate objectives and action plans.
- Strong knowledge of video, alarm monitoring and access control if the background leans more security related.
- Investigative skills - preferably Wicklander & Zulawski or Reid Interviewing and Interrogation certified.
- Previous multi-site management responsibility preferred.
Travel:
- This position is not remote.
- Travel required 5%
