The
Registered Nurse, Inpatient will work
Full Time, Days and provides nursing care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings consistent with educational preparation.
- The Registered Nurse, Inpatient collects, analyzes and records relevant patient health data accurately.
- Analyzes assessment data to identify patient problems.Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
- The Registered Nurse, Inpatient develops a plan of care that describes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implements and records interventions appropriate to diagnosis or patient problem. Evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of identified goals (patient care plan).
- Adheres to approved, research-based practice standard.Demonstrates consideration of safety, effective utilization of equipment and materials, and cost in managing patient care.
- The Registered Nurse, Inpatient enters accurate documentation of all patient care activities as measured by periodic random preceptor and supervisory chart review as per probationary appraisal schedule.
- Performs and documents Point of Care (POC) testing and quality control in accordance with established laboratory policies and procedures.
- The Registered Nurse, Inpatient maintains and documents testing reagents/supplies and equipment according to established laboratory procedures.
- Acts effectively as charge nurse, house resource nurse or preceptor when assigned.
- Writes a progress note that demonstrates an understanding of the patient's status and progress towards achievement of goals.
- The Registered Nurse, Inpatient effectively precepts new staff members or students as determined by preceptee/student feedback and direct managerial observation.
- Advocates for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity and rights.
- Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity.
- The Registered Nurse, Inpatient assures that patients have informed consent signed for indicated procedures.
- Acts on behalf of patients in an ethical manner 100% of the time.
- Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses.

This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, bachelors preferred.
Experience:
- Previous healthcare experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certificates:
- Current NYS licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, required.
- BLS Certification required within thirty days of hire.
- ACLS within one year of hire.
