The role
We are looking to recruit a Remote Operations Data Processor to work as part of the team within the state-of-the-art Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Aberdeen. The Remote Operations Centre supports offshore operations utilising innovative and industry leading technology and protocols from our onshore facility. This presents an exciting opportunity for the Trainee Remote Operations Surveyor to be at the forefront of an innovative new way of working for Fugro helping to ensure we are at the forefront of the industry.
The Remote Operations Data Processor will predominately be responsible for hydrographic data processing, as well as producing deliverables for internal stakeholders and client use.
With a focus on the generation of client deliverables, you will work as part of the Marine Site Characterisation Client Deliverables team in our shift work within our state-of-the art Remote Operations Centre.
The position will operate on a rotational basis with staff completing a 12-hour shift on a rotational shift pattern.

Who you’ll be working with:
While working in the Remote Operations Centre, you will be working closely with the team of Geophysicists, CAD / GIS Specialists, Project Surveyors and Project Managers to undertake processing, reporting, and charting of acquired survey data sets to ensure production of quality deliverables.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
- Monitor acquired data quality on survey vessels, liaise with and assist Party Chief and other survey staff, maintains survey logs.
- Processing of survey data such as navigation and multibeam echo sounder acquired from Vessel, ROV or AUV survey platforms.
- Ensuring processed data is suitable for charting, reporting and complies with scope of work.
- Generating of survey data products compatible with GIS software.
- Constructing survey charts compliant with charting standards.
Who we are looking for:
Essential
- BSC or MSC or equivalent in a relevant survey related discipline;
- Good understanding of survey and processing principles;
- An excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels;
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet project deadlines;
- Good attention to detail, quality and safety;
- Disciplined, self-motivated and flexible team player;
- Remote Operations Centre roles require candidates to be Aberdeen based or willing to relocate;
Desirable
- Knowledge of hydrographic processing software.
