POSITION SUMMARY:
The research associate/fellow will administer and execute specified Anesthesiology research projects, as well as collect basic quality assurance data for specified patients. This position will be fully involved in studies and clinical trials, and will be responsible for educating and training clinical staff on the studies, protocol and importance; setup mechanisms for identifying eligible patients and their surrogates, perform subject interviews, consent and recruitment. The position will also oversee subject recruitment, consent, interviews, sample collection and processing, training of research and clinical staff, IRB interface, monitoring/reporting of research compliance and adverse events, data collection and entry, FDA and multicenter paperwork/interactions and other duties. The research associate/fellow must be willing to be flexible with the hours as needed for the studies and be able to do some moderate travel for site visits and training in multicenter studies.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree
- Computer literacy and competency with e-mail Outlook, internet search, MS Excel and MS Word.
Experience with electronic data entry and retrieval systems
Demonstrates critical thinking skills to problem-solving and clinical decision making for expected and unexpected problems
Responsible and accountable or own practice
Provides a safe environment for patients/involved others
