We are currently looking for a versatile Analytical Chemist who can play the role of analytical lead while directing and driving lab experiments in the Renal Care Solutions R&D chemistry lab in Round Lake, Illinois.
What you'll be doing
- Support design and execution of the analytical plan for exploratory, new product development, and sustaining projects.
- Support analytical projects and activities with minor supervision.
- Conduct analytical problem-solving efforts to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with other functions such as project management, regulatory, formulation, manufacturing, and quality control in project teams.
- Support studies, perform assessments, develop and validate analytical methods, author protocols and reports, and may act as a study director.
- Transfer analytical methods to manufacturing plants, CROs and other R&D centers.
- Contribute to technical feasibility analysis of complex research and design concepts.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant QSR and other regulatory requirements related to R&D (product development, design, and safety) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities.
- In addition to having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of cGxP and related regulations and guidance, provides advice and/or is an active participant in the generation, review, adoption, and interpretation of such regulations.
- Support internal initiatives that improve operational excellence.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific subject area with 2-4 years of experience.
- Experience with analytical method development, validation, and transfer.
- A solid understanding of ICH, USP guidelines and cGxP practice.
- Expertise and hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, UV, Empower, and other analytical instruments and software.
- Ability to learn quickly and to tackle problems in a timely manner using analytical chemistry skills.
- Ability to prioritize, assess and communicate sophisticated information that engages the audience.
- Ability to make decisions when provided with limited information and to make routine decisions independently.
- Ability to design experiments and draw meaningful conclusions from lab data in addition to critically review peers’ work.
- Ability to provide and accept critical feedback from others in a constructive manner.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $60,000 to $132,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
