- BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a research setting
- Wet lab experience: Knowledge of general lab techniques and aseptic cell culture
- Interest in immunology, cancer and cellular biology.
- Experience with microscopy and microscopy analysis.
- Experience with molecular biology (cloning and transfection)
- Proficiency in flow cytometry.
- Computer experience: experience with Excel, ImageJ, Graphpad PRISM and Flowjo; familiarity
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.
- Good communication and technical writing skills.
This position is within the laboratories of Martin Felices and Jeffrey Miller at the Masonic Cancer Research Center. The employee will work on testing methodologies to improve Natural Killer (NK) based immunotherapies through a variety of techniques. The ideal candidate would be interested in furthering the scientific understanding of the immunology of cancer and developing novel assays for use by the lab. Responsibilities will be carried out with instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(40%) Functional assays aimed at testing NK cell functionality with a variety of treatments under a variety of settings; all readouts in this setting to be carried out by microscopy, flow cytometry and CYTOF.
(30%) Data analysis and report generation using a variety of software packages (ImageJ, Flowjo, Graphpad PRISM, Excel)
(20%) Developing new assays and analysis techniques to assess NK cell function.
(10%) Long-term sterile tissue culture and cell based analysis
