Job Summary: The Resident Aide provides direct care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living.

2nd and 3rd shift!

Full-time, Part-time, PRN available

Sign on bonus:

• 2nd shift $300 after training, $450 after 90 days
• 3rd shift $500 after 30 days, $1000 after 90 days

The duties of a Resident Aide are listed but not limited to the following:

• Maintaining resident activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, grooming/ personal hygiene needs, dressing, oral hygiene, hair care, etc.).
• Actively assisting with answering call pendants of residents in a timely manner.
• Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting of residents into and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, showers, etc.
• Actively completing and participating in walking rounds with on-coming staff to ensure resident needs are met, resident apartments are clean, and that residents are safe.
• Maintaining resident documentation in the Point of Care.
• Help residents maintain a tidy and safe environment.
• Cleaning and disinfecting of Village Care shower room after each use.
• Take resident vital signs (such as blood pressure and pulse) and weight.
• Ensure resident linens are clean, changing them when necessary.
• Conduct skin assessments, documenting and reporting results.
• Perform colostomy and catheter care.
• Assist residents with insertion, removal and maintenance of hearing aids.
• Properly transport and dispose of bio-hazard materials.
• Perform any reasonable tasks at resident request.
• Maintain professionalism while communicating with residents, families, co-workers and supervisors.
• Communicate resident needs to the Med Tech.
• Inform Med Tech of problems, concerns, and changes in resident condition.
• Communicate and respond to walkies.
• Learn and abide by HIPAA policy.
• Follow proper call-in procedure.
• Properly report through the chain of command (Med Tech-> On call-> Training Supervisor-> Staffing Coordinator-> Assistant Director of Wellness-> Director of Wellness).
• Follow and report for weekend and holiday rotations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience not required.
• The ability to perform transfers and ADLs for residents.
• Frequent communication with residents and team members in a respectful and friendly manner.
• must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop for 8 or more hours at a time. As well as the ability to lift and carry over 50LBS.
• Must be tactful, courteous and cheerful in dealing with residents, visitors and staff.
• Must possess the skill to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
