Job description
- Delivers research-based interventions/curriculum to meet the needs of the students.
- Participates in building Student Assistance Team meetings and determine student intervention(s).
- Provides individual educational instruction for assigned students.
- Analyzes building assessment data via regular progress monitoring.
- In-services paraprofessionals, parents, volunteers, and teachers on interventions to accomplish behavioral and academic objectives for students.
- Serves as a member of the MET for caseload students and schedule/conduct IEPs for caseload students.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and the building principal.
- Maintains data using technology software to keep all progress monitoring current.
- Maintains an educational environment that is conducive to learning.
- Implements prescriptive programs within the classroom with consultation of teacher consultants, speech therapist, school psychologist, school social worker, and/or other support personnel.
- Submits all required reports, data, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate for with a Special Education endorsement in LD, EI, CI and/or ASD
- Must have demonstrated knowledge and skill of current research in the areas of literacy interventions, assessment, and behavior supports/management

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Student Support Services and the building Principal, and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the East Lansing Public School District, the Resource Room Teacher/intervention specialist is responsible for instruction of varying disabilities. The teacher will focus on collaborations with and provide resources to paraprofessionals, families, volunteers and staff.
