Critically-acclaimed NY veteran chefs are seeking a dynamic General Manager to helm their first Austin concept. The restaurant is a full-service, all-day cafe, and restaurant opening in early autumn on Barton Springs Road. The 180-seat eatery (80 indoor +100 outdoor) will reimagine Chinese cuisine through the sourcing of local, Texas ingredients.

With a breezy, buzzy vibe that both evokes China’s bustling alleyways and reflects its lively Barton Springs neighborhood, ZT is an embodiment of the playful, celebratory style that so singularly defines how Austinites want to dine. Both inventive and approachable, effortless and sophisticated, ZT aims to create a uniquely modern, Austin-Chinese dining experience.

ZT is looking for a leader who is detail-oriented, proactive, organized, efficient, and strategic. They are unyielding in their desire to treat guests to genuine, exceptional hospitality.

Experience with running a beverage program is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

● Prepare the Austin store for October 2023 opening

● Define and foster an inclusive, courteous culture of excellence, diligence, and generosity

● Oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, and development of all staff

● Create an employee handbook, allergy charts, floorplan, sidework checklists, as well as training schedules and manuals for all FOH positions

● Design systems for maintaining exceptional service standards and consistent day-to-day operations

● Populate and train management on the use of the POS system and reservation software

● Direct operations and manage administrative duties, including floor management, event contracts, personnel intake forms, expenses, and scheduling of routine maintenance

● Meet or exceed growth predictions through the management of maintenance, purchasing, staffing, ordering, and inventories

● Nurture guest relationships and resolve any issues in a timely manner

● Communicate effectively with all ownership and management to ensure understanding between departments and promote cohesive messaging

● Contribute creative strategies to help grow the current business including programming and incentives to drive traffic

● Work with ownership to define event offerings, opportunities for seasonal optimization, and to-go sales capabilities

● Maintain cleanliness andsafety standards in accordance with Travis County Health Department codes

Qualifications & Skills:

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Proactive problem-solving capabilities

● Proven track record of achieving profitability goals

● Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain grace under pressure

● Three years of high-level restaurant management experience

● Working knowledge of human resources principles and regulations related to the hospitality industry

● The ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, crouch, use peripheral vision, hear, speak, lift 25 pounds, and otherwise perform the physical functions necessary to meet the demands of the position.

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
