Responsibilities/Qualifications:
Prestige Way Senior Living Facility in Holt is hiring a Restorative Aide.
This is a part time position. If you have experience as a caregiver and would like a full time position, we could cross train you to help with the caregiving also.
The Restorative Tech’s job is to assist residents who participate in the Restorative Program on achieving
and maintaining optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial function. He or she will promote resident
involvement and help the resident reach his or her goals according to the care plan.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the
knowledge, skills, and abilities required
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience working with seniors and desire to serve and care for them
  • Demonstrates leadership competencies
  • Ability to make choices, decisions, and act in the resident’s best interest
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills
  • Must have basic computer skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Reviews, reads, notates and initializes Daily Log to document and learn about pertinent
information regarding residents
  • Participates in the development of resident Individualized Service plans (ISP) and monthly
updates
  • Communicates with family & residents with empathy
  • Ensures the established safety regulations are followed at all times
  • Notifies supervisor & Wellness Coordinator if a resident has a change in care needs
  • Checks residents for changes in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, dietary, and
participation in activities
  • Answers, directs and/or responds to phone calls in a timely, courteous and professional manner
  • Helps residents maintain independence, promote dignity and physical safety
  • Understands and responds to each resident with empathy
  • Maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm
environment
  • Assists each resident with their ever changing needs due to cognitive or physical loss
Essential Duties: Risk Management & Safety
  • Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements
and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies in place
  • Practices safety procedures at all times
  • Reports all accidents/incidents immediately
  • Reports all unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately
  • Ensures any cords, carts, equipment and other hazards are kept out of the way during sessions
  • Complies with all infection control techniques, placement of bio-hazard containers and removal
techniques, procedures and policies
  • Understands and practices the proper method of attending to and disposing of the possibility of
exposure to blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious waste, sharp sticks and hazardous
material, and reports those exposures
  • Routinely practices good standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
  • Actively participates as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goals
  • Demonstrates teamwork values in daily interactions with others
  • Committed to serving our residents, family members, and guests
  • Attends regular meetings; Town Hall, Department Team Meetings, Cross Over as necessary, ISP
Meetings, and others as directed by the Executive Director

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Stand and walk: 3-5 hours at a time, 4-7 hours in a day
  • Sit: 1-2 hours at a time, 1-2 hours in a day
  • Support/assist: 100 lbs, at times 200+ lbs
  • Lift: 40 lbs, occasionally 70 lbs
  • Push, Pull, Bend, twist, squat, kneel, climb, and reach frequently
  • Balance is required
