Job Description


The purpose of this position is to support the category teams in retail inventory optimization and analyze retail inventory levels using data analysis and forecasting techniques to determine the optimal inventory levels needed to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory.

  • Oversee, lead, and set priorities for an inventory team to help support the category teams in inventory control decisions.
  • Select, coach, train, and develop direct reports, to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews
  • Serve as subject matter expert for strategic business and technology planning activities for retail inventory systems and help set best practices.
  • Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures by analyzing sales data to identify trends and patterns in customer demand
  • Develop inventory forecasting models to predict future demand and identify potential inventory shortages or surpluses
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and manage inventory levels
  • Monitor inventory levels and taking action to address any issues or discrepancies
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify any potential loss or theft
  • Develop and implementing inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce costs
  • Help manage inventory markdown and sell through for category teams
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related field
  • 5-10 years of relevant retail inventory experience required
  • MBA or Masters’ degree in an analytical discipline preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience in retail planning, inventory management or analysis required
  • Proficiency using data analysis and inventory management software and Tableau required
  • 4R, Tableau and JDA experience preferred
  • Knowledge of analytical reporting utilizing databases
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, advanced Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak publicly and present to groups of all sizes and experience levels
  • Superior analytical abilities with ability to quickly review and interpret large amounts of information and data
  • Ability to use data to make daily decisions on sales, margin, and budget
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to make travel arrangements and plan for business trips
