Position Title: RN-Consultant
Division: Elder Services-Friendship Cottage
Reports To: Director of Adult Day Service Program

POSITION SUMMARY:
The RN Consultant evaluates activities at Friendship Cottage to ensure client safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participates in orientation and training of staff and volunteers on medical related topics.
2. Reviews Medication Administration Records, Care Plans and Comprehensive Assessments.
3. Destroys discontinued and/or medications left at Friendship Cottage by consumers who have been discharged from the program.
4. Assists Program Director in investigation and resolution of complaints.
5. Provides wound care.
6. Provides nail care for diabetic participants.
7. Maintains confidentiality of all client information in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; repetitively use hands to finger, handle, or feel, including operation of a standard computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms and talk, see and hear; and lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing .
• Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds; medium - up

to 50 pounds; heavy - over 50 pounds .

• Work is performed primarily in a health care facility. Noise level is moderate to high.
• Exposure to body fluids and cleaning chemicals. .

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:
Experience and Skill Requirements: The following requirements and skills are considered essential:

Education/Skill Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with a current license.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Healthcare preferred.
• Must be able to pass background checks.
• First Aid/CPR within first 30 days of hire and maintain and current thereafter.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
