Reedsburg Area Medical Center is recruiting a full-time RN to function as a Nurse Navigator in our Orthopedics Department!
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Position Summary:
The Orthopedic Nurse Navigator (ONN) coordinates care as the single point of contact/resource for patients, staff, and providers. Acts as a resource to the patient, caregivers, staff, and providers, navigating the patient through the preoperative and the hospital stay, tracking outcomes, and transitioning the patient back to the home environment.
Job Relationships:
Reports to Clinic Services Administrator and Clinic Nurse Manager.
Primary Customer Served:
- Infant (31 days – 1 year)
- Pediatric (1 – 12 years)
- Adolescent (13 – 18 years)
- Adult (19 – 65 years)
- Geriatric (> 66 years)
- Family/Visitors
- Physicians
- Community Agencies
- Social Work Team
Education and Training Required:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as an RN in the state of Wisconsin.
- RN with strong orthopedic background is required.
- CPR Certified.
- Meets health requirements.
Experience:

Works in a clinic patient environment with appropriate technological support.
Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a calm manner.
Requires decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical Demands:
- Continuous sitting.
- Occasionally lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally bending, twisting, and reaching overhead.
- Fine motor skills.
- Sight:
- Continuous near-sighted visual acuity for reading and computer work.
- Frequent adaptation from computer to other tasks.
- Cognition/Communication:
- Comprehensive speech and listening skills to communicate with staff and other professionals.
- Complex reading, writing, and math skills to acquire, communicate and use knowledge and skills to keep the department running safely and efficiently.
- Environmental Conditions:
- A constant indoor environment with occasional computer screen glare.
- Potential Hazards:
- Occasional exposure to needles, syringes, etc.
- Occasional exposure to infections blood/body fluids, diseases, etc.
- Occasional exposure to chemical compounds of medications or cleaners.
- Protective eyewear is required during laser treatments.
- May handle hazardous drugs.

- Supervisory and interpersonal skills to work closely with others and occasionally manage conflict and difficult situations.
