RN Weekend Supervisor

Summary
The RN Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the clinical support staff as well as co-management of clinical programming with the CMO. The RN Supervisor will provide or coordinate the provision of disease-specific educational support to patients and also assist with in-service training to staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Ensures the health center and staff provide an environment of care that supports the principles of patient and family centered care by establishing effective partnerships characterized by mutual respect and inclusion in the care process.
Ensures the delivery of high quality services that complies with patient safety goals and implements risk management procedures according to AFH policies and procedures.
Is responsible for the weekend supervision of the nursing and clinical support staff including but not limited to: hiring, training/orienting, disciplining, conducting ongoing performance, delegation of work responsibilities and daily assignments. The following nursing and clinical staff report directly to the RN Supervisor: licensed vocational nurses, medical assistants, referral staff, and case management (asthma, diabetes, women’s health).
Oversees the weeknd flow of the back office of the health center including: patient scheduling, team assignments, coverage for lunch and breaks, examination room assignments, medication dispensary, laboratory functions (point of care testing and reference laboratory services).
Uses appropriate methods for interacting and collaborating sensitively effectively, and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyle preferences
In collaboration with the Quality Management Director participates in the AFH Quality Improvement process, collects and analyzes data to monitor the delivery of patient care including but not limited to: discipline specific chart audits, triage, and other quality improvement initiatives.
Ensures compliance with all infection control and environment of care regulations.
Participation in trainings and quality improvement activities including the Clinical Quality Management Committee, and compliance with policies and guidelines
Knowledge of the Patient-Centered Medical Home model
Assist the Clinic Administrator prepare for any internal or external audits by ensuring compliance with any and all regulations.
Ensures the daily monitoring of quality controls and medication logs; implements appropriate follow-up as necessary.
Participates in hazardous waste and infection control assignments as required which may include being designated as an emergency responder to a hazardous substance release or spill; performing infection control data collection, evaluation, reporting and follow-up in accordance with clinical health services policy and procedures.
Consistently adheres to a high standard of professional ethics and is a role model for other staff
Develops and maintains working knowledge of the following programs; participates in and complies with the AFH: a. Infection Control Program b. Environment of Care Management Plans and Emergency Management Program; and participates in emergency response activities as directed c. Corporate Compliance Program d. Code of Conduct
Serves as a liaison between the nursing and clinical support staff and the Provider(s). Advocates on behalf of the nursing and clinical support staff by supporting and promoting a team environment.
Assess and train MAs on clinical competencies annually, upon hire, and as needed
