BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Facilitates high standards of hotel housekeeping service and guest satisfaction by scheduling, allocating assignments and directly overseeing staff engaged in cleaning hotel rooms and restocking rooms with supplies and guest amenities.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
- Schedules and delegates daily work to the housekeeping staff. Directs the workflow and oversees the daily operational issues.
- Assign room attendants, house people and lobby porters to hotel sections/floors and ensures cleanliness of hallways and all public areas.
- Inspects and certifies all rooms after cleaning. Assist the housekeeping supervisor in monitoring housekeeping standards and procedures, and reports on damage and rooms requiring maintenance or repairs, shampooing or deep cleaning.
- Issue supplies required cleaning and storage rooms. Collaborates with the housekeeping supervisor on supply levels, ordering and requesting supplies.
- Performs daily security checks on all floors and reports suspicious activity or violations of hotel policies. Passes lost and found items to the security department.
- Records and complies daily work history.
- Resolves or refers to management all guest concerns, complaints or suggestions in order to provide superior hotel service to the guest.
- When necessary, room inspectors will be required to clean rooms, assist the house people or lobby porters.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Hotel housekeeping training or previous experience required.
