Working 37.5 hours a week alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will enjoy being a part of an environment that has a strong emphasis on teamwork. You will advise and assist to support multi-disciplinary team on safeguarding matters.
As the Safeguarding Lead, you will act as the point of contact with families and careers, this will see you lead and promote engagement within forums and events. You will ensure service users have access to independent advice on financial legal and advocacy matters.
You will monitor, identify and address themes, trends and social concerns through risk assessments, care plans and investigations to support the service user to continue to make viable plans for their future.

Other responsibilities:
- Participate, Contribute to Regional Safeguarding meetings, morning meetings and any professional or complex meetings.
- Act as the Designated Lead for Safeguarding for the Hospital, maintaining links with Safeguarding Lead/Local Authority providing reports as required for Local Authorities/Family/ appropriate third parties.
- Identify any social issues which a patient may be experiencing and ensure these are addressed within risk assessments and care plans and to ensure the patient is supported
- Take a proactive approach to support the ward staff within the hospital with monitoring any safeguarding concerns amongst the patient group, ensuring the safety of patients at all times.
- Actively engage within the Clinical Governance of the hospital, attending meetings, providing feedback to others and working towards the agreed goals and objectives of the hospital.
- To develop and maintain links with between different agencies within a patient’s local community, for example Care Coordinators, MAPPA, families/carers and future possible placements.
- To undertake the lead responsibilities in matters related to child protection
- To take the lead for family carer forums/events for the hospital promoting engagement from families and carers
- To be point of contact for family/carer concerns/complaints
- To undertake investigations as directed by the Hospital Director/Clinical Services Manager
- Making sure safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented and followed by staff, students and volunteers
- Take lead on safeguard KPI, Audits, Reports.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Be A Registered Social Worker With The Health And Care Professions Council
- Knowledge of Human Rights Act S8, Children Act 89,S17, S47, S31, S85, Mental Health Act 83, CAMHS S17, 117, S2, S3 and ADP Equality Race Act
- Experience within a similar environment
- Managerial experience
- Able to work as part of a team, within the social work department, the hospital and including external professionals.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Have an open and transparent attitude towards supervision and professional development.
- Able to manage stress in a positive way.
- Effective in time management.
- Supportive towards colleagues in the department and the MDT.
