The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Camera Process Administration team. Our Camera Process Administrators contribute to the enforcement of camera detected offences as part of the Force commitment to the Sussex Road Safety Partnership.

Reporting to the Admin Team Leaders, you will be a strong team player with excellent communication and administrative skills. With a proven ability to accurately input data and a methodical mind to maintain vital police records that could be used as evidence in court.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the efficient processing of all Fixed Penalty Road Traffic offences throughout Sussex, sourced from all areas within the organisation e.g. Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP), Road Policing Unit (RPU) and Divisional Officers. To ensure appropriate disposal within prescribed time limits, encompassing diversion courses via National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS), Conditional Offers and Court process in order to reduce the numbers of killed and seriously injured (KSI) users of Sussex roads.

You will also be responding to enquiries from the public in writing or by telephone on a daily basis, ensuring statutory forms are despatched on time and statements and prosecution files are compiled accurately.

You will be able to work in a calm and professional manner to meet strict deadlines, and will be willing to undertake training to become proficient in the use of the various departmental computer systems, printing and mailing technology.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and interactive skills, including excellent telephone manner and conflict resolution.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt style and embrace change quickly and appropriately to suit the circumstances
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work in a target driven and pressurised environment to tight timescales
  • To be able to use your own initiative including the ability to prioritise and organise workloads
  • To have an enquiring mind with the ability to problem solve efficiently and effectively
  • The ability to make quick decisions based on the facts presented
