AIS Construction Equipment is the oldest Michigan owned and operated heavy equipment company in the state and has been serving customers for over 60 years. We are looking for a Safety Manager to join our team. This is a full-time position (8am-5pm) Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
The Safety Manager oversees safety at all 6 of our branches so travel between them is required. Ideally, this position would be based out of our Lansing branch. This candidate should have very strong analytical and computer skills. The candidate should also have strong interpersonal skills and feel comfortable teaching classes (such as Mine Safety and new hire classes). This position requires working with all levels of the company so the ideal candidate will be able to communicate with employees and management frequently and effectively. This role includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Performing safety inspections at branches
- Maintaining compliance websites
- Ensuring AIS is up-to-date with government regulations
- Teaching both internal and external safety classes
- Managing the AIS fleet safety program
- Interacting with all employees such as service technicians, salespeople, parts associates and administrative staff, as well as customers
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Detail-oriented and ability to multitask
- Experience in the Safety Management field is preferred
- 2- to 4-year degree preferred
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, PLUS commission
