GEA is one of the largest suppliers of process technology for the food industry and a wide range of other industries. The international technology group focuses on process technology and components for sophisticated production processes in various end-user markets. We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our team in Milton Keynes within the Sales Food Solution Packaging & Slicing Division Food & Healthcare Technologies provide solutions for food processing. This covers preparation, marinating and further processing of meat, poultry, seafood and vegan products, in addition to processing lines for pasta, baked goods, snacks, breakfast cereals, confectionery and pet food. GEA also offers equipment for freezing, slicing and packaging of food and milling. GEA solutions for the pharmaceutical & nutraceutical industry include components, equipment and entire plants for processing solid, liquid as well as semi-solid products and high potent drugs either for batch or continuous production. You will serve as the point of contact between the company and the customer as well as identify new customers and support existing customers. You will also be responsible for properly communicating the benefits of products and services to increase sales. LOCATION: Flexible in UK STARTING DATE: Q1 2023

Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Responsibility for sales of Food Solutions BU equipment on specified sales area (National / Regional depending on plan)

  • Manage & develop existing extensive customer install base

  • Focus on individual machine sales whilst supporting FS line solutions

  • Generate leads for complete line sales

  • Develop & grow business with potential customers (new to GEA / CFS)

  • Achieve / exceed the agreed budget for the year

  • Achieve / increase margins to within guidelines on O I S costings sheet / EBIT per order

  • Effect communication between customer & factory contacts (PSMs) in relation to application requests / trials / demos / customer visits to factories

  • Commercial Proposals – responsibility to ensure proposals are accurate and detailed in accordance with GEA and customer expectations and timings

  • Customer demo’s – responsibility to arrange, co-ordinate and control demo’s and tests with customer in the TC (usually Bakel)

  • Identify opportunities for other GEA products and BUs (Slicing, packaging, freezing etc.)

  • Feedback into GEA of relevant competitor or market changes likely to affect GEA

  • Identify key areas of future opportunity for GEA products (Food Solutions)

  • Develop 3rd party equipment suppliers relationships / networking

  • All activities undertaken with reference to company handbook (inc H & S) & code of GEA compliance

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Appropriate degree level qualification desirable

  • Professional qualification in sales or demonstratable experience is essential

  • Effective time management on the sale area – customer / potential customer visits, effectively recognizing & analyzing the appropriate amount of time spent with & working on customer projects (time & resource used versus reward / order)

  • Ability to develop new accounts from own leads / efforts – outside of normal GEA

  • Proven sales track record

  • Proven negotiating skills & ‘deal’ closing

  • Costings analysis to achieve desired margin / EBIT

  • Clear ability to manage / control the sales process between customer / UK service & projects / factory

  • I T skills should include (basic) CRM management of opportunities, Effective use of outlook, MS Teams (on line meetings – internal / external, costings / analysis using excel reports, PowerPoint presentations

  • Use of GEA systems – Workday, I connect, H & S, Training portal
