Salary Range

• $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Job Summary

The Sandblast Operator is responsible for loading and unloading products into the blasting room and cleaning them with a high velocity stream of shot media. Operators must be comfortable with the wearing the required full PPE equipment during these operations.

Responsibilities

• Positions safes to completely blast all surfaces.
• Safely and efficiently operate blasting equipment to prepare surfaces for further process before paint.
• Visually inspects safes prior to removing from blast room.
• Enforce safety precautions related to media blasting, including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing while inside the blasting room.
• Monitors sandblasting equipment and notify supervisor imminently of any problem.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate effective and efficient productivity.
• Follows priorities to meet the production schedule.
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
• Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines and company policies

Qualifications/Skills

• 10 hours a day Monday through Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime as needed.
• Ability to exercise reasonable judgment when inspecting cleaned products
• Possesses a working knowledge of the hazards to health encountered and the protective devices used in sandblasting
• Ability to function effectively with repetitive and routine work
• Correctable vision and hearing
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in fast paced environment
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
