position summary:

We are looking for a Sandwich Maker to join our team. You will make sandwiches and prep sandwiches to order for in-store, catering and grab and go. Kitchen experience is a major plus, since you will be responsible for preparing sandwich ingredients and properly storing items at the end of your shift. You might also greet guests and answer any questions they may have about our sandwich menu. Our ideal applicant is a lover of sandwiches, with a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills!

essential functions:

• daily production, packaging, and cleaning, to include all grab + go items, bakery deli items, and soups
• provide exceptional guest service and share knowledge of deli products
• maintain and organize deli back stock and storage areas
• monitor inventory of deli stock items
• prepare daily par levels and monitor product rotation
• assist with cashier duties at deli counter (if applicable)
• follow company policies, standards, and recipes
• follow food safety standards and health code policies
• ensure products are properly labeled with item, date, and price
• ensure deli department is maintained neat, clean, and safe
• communicate department needs to Deli Lead
• other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• previous experience is an asset
• ability to work quickly + efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• basic math skills
• knowledge of meat productions preferred
• high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• constant standing and walking throughout shift
• frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
• visa requirements: must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Requirements

• ability to use commercial equipment including (but not limited to) a meat slicer, scales, packaging machinery, and a cash register
• ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• reading comprehension - understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
