Sanitation Support Technician Lead 3rd shift M-F
Job description
Overview/Function: This primary responsibility for this role is to lead all production line cleaning and sanitation at the conclusion and to prepare the line(s) for the next production run. All efforts require strict adherence to the company’s standard operating procedures related to quality, safety, and sanitation to ensure the highest level of production quality.
Major Responsibilities:
· Clean and sanitize all production-related equipment and tools following the day’s production activities.
· Complete all master sanitation documentation, following master cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, etc.). As lead, review department-wide sanitation documents to ensure all fields are completed.
· Monitor and test water through the night – adjusting levels as needed.
· Accurately and consistently follow all written standard operating procedures (SOPs), verbal instructions, process flow charts and procedures, and follow all safety, food safety, and GMP requirements.
· Verify effectiveness of cleaning/sanitation efforts.
· Stage and prepare production lines for the next production run. Store remaining raw materials from previous production run; Conduct inventory counts and replenish raw materials and supplies (i.e. lids, wraps, cans, pallets, shrink film, bottles, shells, closures, etc.)
· Fill in for production line (as needed).
· Collect trash and recyclables, and place in appropriate area(s).
· Support and follow a strong safety culture and maintain clean and orderly production area to ensure safety.
· Hold high accountability for work performance to ensure the highest level of quality.
· Offer pro-active suggestions for cleaning-related problems.
· Regular, consistent attendance is an essential job function.
· Other duties as required.
Experience & Qualifications:
· High School degree with at least a year of general work experience. Previous production environment sanitation experience is desired, but not required. Will consider other equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
· Previous food-grade or beverage manufacturing background and keen understanding of food safety regulations is desired.
· Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
· Ability to read, write, follow process flow charts, and problem-solving are essential skills.
· Good math, inspection, and problem-solving skills are needed.
· Good team-player with the ability to effectively interact with others.
· Highly-motivated self-starter, with the ability to work with minimal oversight.
· Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations and schedules.
· Consistent, regular attendance is an essential job function.
Additional:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position will spend their time on the production floor. As a result, they should expect a fast-paced production environment with loud noises resulting and will frequently lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds. (Moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.)
· The role is expected to be able to:
o Lift 40 pounds up to shoulder height occasionally.
o Lift up to 30 pounds above the head occasionally.
o Pull water hose frequently using up to 50 pounds of force.
o Push/pull cleaning tools (such as a broom) from a crouched position frequently using up to 20 pounds of force.
o Climb stairs frequently in a wet environment.
· Constant standing, walking, twisting, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing will be required.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This person will be exposed to water, mold, dirt, soap and other cleaning products. This person will be exposed to a wet, soapy environment much of the time. This person will be exposed frequently to vibration from the pressure washer gun.
· Required to work with chemicals (chlorine and caustic) and encounter mold growth to remove
· The typical workdays will be Monday-Friday evenings, with varied hours based on production schedule needs (typically 10 pm to 6 :30 am). Some weekend work may be required.
· PPE will be provided to comply with safety and GMP requirements.
· This role is considered a safety sensitive position.
· Must have reliable transporation.
