SCHOLAR ENRICHMENT COORDINATOR

Organization Background:

Point Foundation (Point) empowers promising lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential – despite the obstacles often put before them – to make a significant impact on society. Point Foundation is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit. Point is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students. We provide scholarship funding, mentorship, leadership development, and a community of LGBTQ peers and supporters to springboard the next generation of LGBTQ leaders.

Point’s work is vital because LGBTQ students face disproportionate barriers to accessing and succeeding in higher education. A study by Point and UCLA’s Williams Institute found that LGBTQ people were four times more likely than straight, cis peers to select a college in a different city or state in search of a more welcoming climate. Once on campus, approximately 60% of LGBTQ college students reported not being out to any faculty or staff at their institution.

Position Overview:

The Scholar Enrichment Coordinator at Point Foundation is an entry-level position responsible for providing essential administrative support for scholar enrichment programs, including leadership development and mentoring. Key responsibilities include providing support for in-person and virtual events, managing communications for relevant programs, and coordinating key components of Point’s mentoring and coaching programs.

To be successful in this position candidates should possess a strong interest in serving the LGBTQ community and enriching the educational experiences of the LGBTQ student leaders that receive Point scholarships. We seek a team member who has strong interpersonal skills and is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
