VCC is a private mental health agency offering a comprehensive array of mental health services to adults, children, adolescents and their families.
Founded over 16 years ago, the Village Counseling Center (VCC) in Gainesville, Florida provides services in over 16 counties in North Florida including Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist, Levy, Suwannee and Duval County. The Village Counseling Center is regarded as one of the premiere agencies in North Florida for assessing and treating children, adolescents and young adults for issues related to sexual abuse, trauma and adoption with specialized services for both victims and family members. We accept private referrals as well as clients through various contracts with many agencies including the Department of Children and Families, Partnership for Strong Families and Alachua County Public Schools.
All clinical services are provided by experienced, licensed professionals and are adapted to meet the unique needs of each child and family. We adhere to a resiliency-based model based on developing each client’s strengths, needs and support system.
The Village Counseling Center’s primary programs, the Sexual Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Program, Adoption Success Program, Trauma-Focused Occupational Therapy Program and Trauma Recovery Program for Youth and Families are known for providing pioneering services and are leaders in North and Central Florida in the provision of specialized services for children and adolescents. VCC clinicians have evaluated and successfully treated thousands of children and adolescents who have suffered physical, sexual and emotional abuse as well as children and adolescents who exhibit sexual behavior problems. We aim to help youth and families transcend the trauma of childhood abuse, learn appropriate behavior and pursue safe, healthy and meaningful lives.
Full-Time, licensed clinician or registered intern to provide mental health services at an elementary school in Alachua County. Must have experience treating children between the ages of 4 - 12 years old with mental health problems. Strong clinical, assessment, teamwork and communication skills are a must.
Competitive salary, supportive team environment, licensure supervision available, 10 days PTO, follows teacher's schedule which includes time off and paid leave for school holidays (e.g., Thanksgiving and Christmas vacations) and the better part of summer break.
