We have an opportunity for a passionate and imaginative Script Editor to join the Editorial team. The Editorial department is fast paced, energetic and creative and you will need to be confident, deadline driven and a fantastic problem solver. You will attend meetings contributing effectively to discussions to strengthen story and character ideas. In these meetings you will be responsible for taking accurate notes from the Executive Producer and Producers. These notes will be used throughout the scripting process and so your attention to detail needs to be excellent. You will liaise with Writers to discuss changes to scripts, handle queries from cast and crew, as well as being ready to work with the Producers and Writers if additional dialogue or reshoots are needed.
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate previous experience of script editing or storylining as well as having the following skills and knowledge:
- An understanding of the script process for drama
- A solid understanding of script and story structure, dialogue and tone
- Up to date knowledge of the Hollyoaks show, its characters and stories
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise workload
- Previous experience working on a long running drama in an editorial capacity
