Overview:

The Specialty Camp Instructor is responsible for providing physical, mental and spiritual growth and development opportunities for each child; and develop and implement daily plans in accordance with age appropriate programming through weekly themes and activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
  • Build and maintain enthusiasm in a group.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for program times utilizing risk management guidelines, developmental characteristics, variety, creativity and weekly themes.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities and use only in an appropriate manner.
  • Report all program changes to Site Director or Program Director.
  • Be prepared for program responsibilities as assigned including lesson plans, devotions, group activities, Family Events and water activities.
  • Maintain positive relationships at all times with children, parents and co-workers.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
  • Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with youth.
Preferred:
  • Fitness background highly desired, including swimming skills.
