Job Description for Section Manager, Region Logistics

Position Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for the management of forward stocking location (warehouse) and distribution operations between vendors, manufacturing and customers. This role includes the development, execution and implementation of logistics projects and initiatives that will drive process harmonization, improvements, savings and value creation for the overall spares supply chain and logistics function. The Logistics Manager is also responsible for day to day oversight and management of the third party logistics service provider operations and performance management. This role is part of the America Spares and Services Logistics organization under Global Operations and reports to the Logistics Manager, Global Operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and oversee daily area operations for forward and reverse logistics and third party logistics warehouse provider for efficiencies and ensure smooth workflow in terms of receipt, storage and shipping
  • Manage and overseas all aspects of inventory accuracy, material flow, inbound, outbound and reverse logistics transactions, while meeting business metrics and ensuring logistics productivity and required service standards
  • Lead and drive the management of third party logistics service operational performance review, scorecards, improvement plans and resolve any operational gaps identified with CAPA/8D/problem solving methods
  • Ensure accuracy of all transactions in SAP related to material movement and inventory including Cycle Count.
  • Liaise with function teams (Special Products & Retrofit, Demo Labs, Business Operations, Production Planning, Quality, Purchasing) for timely disposition of materials and to resolve issues preventing material flow
  • Establish and document all warehouse and distribution processes according to ASM standards.
  • Answer and address customer queries and any escalations on order and shipment status in a proactive and timely manner
  • Work with Global Trade Compliance Team and customs brokers to ensure export and import compliance (proper HTS code classification, COO, End User Statement, Free Trade Agreements, duty regimes) to ASM Trade Policies
  • Develop and implement critical strategies focus on warehousing and distribution operations to improve cost, storage utilization, quality and productivity / cycle time
  • Ensure highest standards are achieved in the forward stocking location in areas of safety, personnel, efficiency, 5S

Experience / Skills Required

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management for the capital equipment industry, preferably semiconductor or hi-tech environment
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to use data to influence and make decisions
  • Prior experience with developing logistics budgets, and driving plans for cost overruns
  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or higher
  • Experience in SAP is preferred, knowledge of TMS / WMS functionalities is expected
  • Any other professional certifications will be of added advantage
  • Proven self-starter, change agent and influencer
  • Ability to perform multiple actions across multiple regions
  • Ability to operate in an environment of significant change and ambiguity
