Job description
  • Functioning as a customer service technician, providing help desk support monitoring, trouble shooting, diagnostics and problem resolution associated with PCs and Servers on LAN, and WAN
  • Provide patch management for any Windows X OS, using provided on-prem tools. Identify, testing, and deployment of all critical and security packages at the server, desktop, and laptops levels. Provide a report of any assets that are not compliant and develop remediation process to make assets within standards. Configures, installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and monitors operation of LAN hardware/software including desktop computers, data/video communication systems, including peripheral devices, wiring, and cabling to ensure connectivity and functionality.
  • Performs routine network systems administration to include, but not limited to addition/deletion of users and hardware/software, defining access rights, implementing, and ensuring compliance with security procedures and policies, advise key leadership future technology upgrades, planning and implementing desktop computer migration and maintaining inventory control systems. Advises and trains users on the operation and capabilities of hardware and application software.

Plans, schedules, installs, and tests software updates and hardware upgrades; conducts need analysis of equipment, software, network security, budget, disaster recovery concerns, training, and equipment resources to plan and recommend network changes in ways that meet program goals. Coordinates network expansion with agency technical staff, consultants, and contractual vendors.

  • Can direct the successful completion of specific telecommunication tasks working with other network telecommunication technicians or working alone. This includes the implementation of new data networks and major, complex upgrades to the network telecommunications infrastructure as prescribed by a supervisor, or senior telecommunications technicians, or technologists.

Knowledge of patch management tools and techniques

  • Knowledge of the concepts and methodologies of information system analysis and development

Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS

Knowledge of network protocols and security

Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash

Ability to analyze and troubleshoot technical issues

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Effective communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Salary: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour

  • Tier 3 Help Desk Technical Support: 4 years (Preferred)

  • VPN Setup/Maintenance: 4 years (Preferred)
  • Disaster Recovery: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Active Directory: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CompTIA A + Certification (Preferred)
