An opportunity has arisen to join the Frontier team, based at Cranswick. We are looking for a Seed Analyst to join us on a permanent full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for seed analysis for Frontier Agriculture and also assist in a busy Grain Laboratory when required, whilst upholding Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

Ideal candidate

  • Proficiency of Seed Analysis in Cereals (Essential)
  • Laboratory Management Analyst in Charge (Desirable – training may be given to the right candidate)
  • Crop Inspectors Licence (Desirable – training may be given to the right candidate)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • A flexible approach to working hours during peak season
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to work on own initiative, making decisions, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues and customers

The role – Key responsibilities

  • Analysis of seed, grain and pulses for both Frontier and independent third-party customers
  • Ensure procedures are followed for grain testing
  • Record all samples on to the system and input data
  • Carry out research for external companies
  • Check equipment is working accurately
  • Ensure all records are accurate and any anomalies are highlighted to the Laboratory Manager
  • Cover the Laboratory Manager in their absence
  • Crop Inspection and seed sampling
