We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry.

Halliburton is looking for a technology and business leader to serve as Product Owner (PO) for their Seismic Processing and Imaging software portfolio. This role is based out of the Halliburton-Landmark Headquarters in Houston, TX, with international travel potentially accounting for up to 15% of the position’s time. We are looking for a seasoned processing geoscientist with experience managing internal technology groups and external partner relationships.

Job Description

This role is a combination of Product Marketing, Business Development, and Software Team Management roles. The role does not require hands-on seismic processing activities but being able to run the software and providing usability guidance is a big plus.

The role is responsible for the day-to-day direction of a software development team in coordination with the development lead and scrum master. The PO duties within the development scrum team include defining stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritizing the team backlog to define features that meet customer expectations.

In coordination with the Geophysics R&D Domain and Solution owners, the PO will design the overall business strategy, investment model, vision, and scope of the seismic processing products, incorporating the latest technologies and research. The PO will also drive the cloud deployment strategy for our seismic processing portfolio.

The PO is also expected to assist sales and operations in the rollout and training of their products and provide technical content and support as needed.

The PO helps establish partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers, third parties and industry thought leaders. They are accountable to bring in funded development when appropriate, identify new product and business opportunities and keep track of industry and competitor changes that may require new strategies or revisions of the business plan. They are responsible for the packaging, pricing, and marketing of said product families.

The PO is expected to participate in industry associations, organizations, and consortiums, including attending events and contributing to publications, all in order to evangelize SeisSpace in the industry through thought leadership.
