JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Semi-Trailer & Liftgate Parts Counter Specialist is to be responsible for assisting all customers and technicians in securing needed parts and supplies. This role is also accountable for achieving the monthly sales and gross profit forecasts, and for seeking and soliciting parts sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with customers, outside salespersons and technicians to fill parts requirements with general supervision.
  • Parts order entry and processing for semi-trailers and liftgates.
  • Prepares invoices for all over the counter sales and bills parts to repair orders that are issued to the shops.
  • Assist in maintaining stock levels, receive and ship parts, and in issuing local purchase orders.
  • Maintains a favorable relationship with customers by addressing their needs and issues in a timely manner. Escalates customer issues to supervisor when needed.
  • Maintains a neat and clean appearance in the customer parts area and parts warehouse.
  • Enter all lost sales into the inventory system so that proper inventory items and levels can be maintained.
  • Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary. Ensures proper safety, care, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment. Reports any damage to company equipment or property immediately to supervisor.
  • Assists with inventory management related activities as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOBS SKILLS

  • Good communication skills (primarily via telephone and email)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer experience/proficiency in the following:
  • Windows operating system
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Order entry, processing, and invoice generation
  • A general understanding of commercial semi-trailers and vehicles is desirable

EXPERIENCE

  • Sales Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Inventory Control: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Semi-Trailer and Liftgate Parts Knowledge (Preferred)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL not required) and driving record in good standing.
  • Consent to a drug screening is required.
  • Operate cargo vans, trucks, or larger Step Van vehicles.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
