The QAP team is committed to the well-being of our employees, through compensation, work-life balance, benefits, and career development. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant in our Anchorage office who aspires to be a future Controller.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial information to ensure integrity is maintained.
  • Assist Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Work closely with operations to understand and ensure the proper accounting information flow.
  • Review and assist in preparing budgets and forecasts in coordination with the Controller.
  • Identify and communicate business issues to management.
  • Participate in external and internal audits as required.
  • Uphold Colas ethics and business principles.
  • Ad hoc projects and reporting as needed.
  • Occasional travel, as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in accounting, finance, or business administration with a concentration in accounting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Motivated, positive, and professional.
  • At least three years of accounting experience preferably in the construction and/or manufacturing field.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
  • Must possess excellent skills with Microsoft Windows and MS Office suite, particularly Outlook and Excel (intermediate level, pivot tables, vlookups, if statements, nested ifs, hlookups, sum if/ifs statements, macros, what-if analysis, data validation, etc.).
  • Experience with JDE (preferred), Sage, Timberline, or other enterprise construction industry software is a plus
