Sage Parts is the world’s largest supplier of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and airport-related replacement parts with warehouses around the globe with headquarters in Melville, NY and global headquarters in Fountain Inn, SC. Sage Parts supplies replacement parts and accessories for all types and brands of GSE including aircraft cargo loaders, deicers, pushback tractors, baggage tractors, ground power units, pre-conditioned air units, air start units, lavatory/water vehicles, transporters and dollies. Sage provides supply chain management, on site supply services, single source supply and other cost reduction programs.

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in our Global Headquarters in Fountain Inn, SC.

Summary of the Position:

Senior Accountant will support the Finance Department by preparing various account analysis and reconciliations, managing external audits, filing appropriate tax filings, preparing bank reconciliations, support the development of the yearly budget and assisting management with the day–to-day operation of the Finance Department. Below is a detailed list which includes, but is not limited to, the basic job responsibilities, specifications and qualifications.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Month End Reporting - Oversee all month end closing tasks including but not limited to closing journal entries and account analyses. Financial statement preparation and review month end variance against budget explanations for multiple companies.
  • Financials - Analyze all balance sheets, profit and loss statements for all entities and consolidation. Prepare reconciliations for cash, prepaid assets, fixed assets, intangible assets, inventory, equity and Accounts Payable. Monthly General Ledger analysis for balance sheet accounts and P&L accounts.
  • Budget Review –Support the development of the yearly budget and review actual financials against budget.
  • Audit – Maintain all information requested for audits including but not limited to (Year-end financials, Income tax, Sales tax).
  • Tax – File monthly sales tax returns, Canadian PST/GST returns, VAT returns and special projects as needed. Assist with the preparation of the tax return working papers.
  • Other – Assist management with day–to- day operation of the accounting department and special projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel/Expected Work hours

This position may require limited travel. Some flexibility is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours Monday thru Friday. Hours beyond the “core” work hours may be required as job duties demand.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filling cabinets.

Physical requirements

This position will require the employee to be stationary for long periods of time. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery. Employees will be required to communicate with co-workers and vendors frequently by phone or in person and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situation. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 10lbs.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Five to Seven years’ experience in Accounting
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with multi locations and companies a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Self-starter who is result driven that can meet deadlines
  • International (IFRS) experience a plus
  • Highly organized with great attention detail
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced work environment
  • Proven interpersonal skills, professional demeanor
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with a large ERP system (Prophet 21- Epicor) Preferred
  • Bilingual with a Spanish a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
