Job Description:
Electrical Engineers II - Battery Value and Production Support
Job duties:
  • Working independently, engineer changes to existing embedded battery system designs in-cluding schematic capture, PCB Layout, and microcontroller firmware of current mass production solutions.
  • Conduct experiments, perform simulations, and draw concise, logical conclusions by ana-lyzing data.
  • Identify tradeoffs and solutions to problems and strive to resolve quickly in a high urgency environment.
  • Design and qualify new solutions to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI.
  • Own the engineering analysis and verification of alternate components and lithium-ion cells and work with project team to update designs and support their integration into existing products.
  • Create test plans for electronic components and assemblies within scope of project or plat-form development.
  • Conduct test plans for battery and collect data for cell performance.
  • Manage any necessary firmware updates and release to support design changes, cell perfor-mance changes and product number changes.
  • Analyze cell test results and define required firmware updates to align with recorded cell characteristics.
  • Fulfill Development Plan and provide technical leadership.
  • Ensure assigned tasks adhere to schedule and communicate updates to other teams and man-agement.
  • Role model Milwaukee Tool’s culture while providing technical input and collaboration with Team members.
  • Schedule, develop agendas for, facilitate, and document technical meetings and formal presentations.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field and 2 years of relevant design experience. Experience must include:
  • Circuit simulation software to model circuit performance or for analysis.
  • Software for schematic capture and PCB board layouts of electronic designs.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of PCBAs.
  • Design of power sources, such as batteries or alternative energy sources (wind, solar, or hydro).
  • Evaluating battery system specifications to define and perform performance tests to ensure compliance.
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
Partial weekly work from home is allowed on a regular basis.
