Senior Engineering Manager
Job description
As one of America’s top-ranked academic health centers, our mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovations and transformation in research, education, patient care and community engagement. We are seeking an experienced engineering manager who will lead an experienced, knowledgeable team of mechanical, energy, and electrical engineers to shape the expanding infrastructure (11+ million square feet by 2025) of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Health System.
Responsibilities include:
Provides direction on major initiatives and projects including capital budget management for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems- Contributes strategic vision and serves as the top-level technical contributor in the planning, development, implementation, functionality and evaluation of MEP systems
- Provides direction on building MEP system strategies, procedures, policies and methodologies
- Directs contractors, manufacturers, and vendors in project tasks related to the MEP systems
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers to ensure high-quality work and adherence to project timelines
Required Qualifications
Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering- Professional engineering license.
- At least 5 years of experience designing, troubleshooting and/or managing complex building MEP related infrastructure required.
- Extensive experience/knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and/or electrical distribution systems in industrial/commercial environments.

- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within team and across the organization.
- Ability to comfortably handle risk and uncertainty; can act without having total picture available.
- Demonstrated proficient diagnostic skills - able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems.
- Experience in healthcare operational setting highly desired.
