Corporate Services and Business Planning

What We Are Looking For
GVEC is looking to hire a full-time Administrative Assistant, who will be responsible for providing administrative and project management support to the Senior Executive Manager, who is responsible for Business and Strategic planning, Marketing and Communications, Economic Development and Beyond the Meter Operations. As the administrative assistant to the Senior Executive Manager, you will work closely with teams and leadership throughout the entire organization.

How You’ll Help
  • Develop a broad understanding of the various areas and strategic initiatives managed by the Senior Executive Manager
  • Manage special projects as assigned
  • Anticipate the needs of the Senior Executive Manager
  • Develop and prepare presentations and reports for the Senior Executive Manager to present to staff, The Board of Directors, Strategic Planning Team and other interest groups
  • Assist the Senior Executive Manager with coordinating and/or facilitating internal and external meetings as necessary to meet business objectives
  • Engage in business planning and tracking of departmental and organization-wide goals
  • Assist with budgeting processes involving capital/operational expenses and wage/salary
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Experience/Skills You’ll Need
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to be flexible and thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across internal departments and external contacts
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion of sensitive matters
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Local travel during business hours will be required

Preferences
  • Previous marketing, communications, customer service or administrative experience preferred
