That's why we believe diversity is our greatest strength. HDR is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer.

We believe that the way we work can add meaning and value to the world. That ideas inspire positive change. That coloring outside the lines can illuminate fresh perspectives. And that small details yield important realizations. Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.

We create connections between people and the projects and services that move communities forward.

We are looking for a Graphic Designer 2 to be a member of our Strategic Communications program, a global team of communicators who are passionate about putting people first in planning and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be prepared to take ownership in the full lifecycle of projects, from design brief to production, and to develop relationships with internal clients, external vendors, and other service providers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Think strategically to provide cohesive messaging and visual identity across ongoing projects and multiple disciplines.
  • Work with internal and external clients to identify the purpose of visual communication projects and provide effective, creative solutions including new design concepts, messaging, graphics, and layouts.
  • Develop compelling, professional visual design that informs and educates clients, stakeholders, and the public about community projects.
  • Interpret and distill highly technical information for easy understanding by mainstream audiences.
  • Create a wide range of collateral for internal and external audiences, including digital graphics (social media posts, website assets, email campaigns, surveys, and presentations); support interactive media production (assets for gifs and video); branding (logos, style guides); traditional print graphics (exhibits, flyers, direct mailers; large-scale design reports; and technical and illustrative maps).
  • Perform other duties as needed
