Introduction:
Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,200 people in the UK. BDUK is currently responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISR Services, Through-Life Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.
About the role:
We are looking for a Lead Senior Project Planner and Scheduler to support the BDUK Portfolio of bids and execution Programmes. This is a full-time role based out of Bristol with flexibility to work remotely in a hybrid model (some remote working available, but not permanent) with expected visits to offices as per business need.
The ideal candidate will already be experienced in leading a team, have significant planning and scheduling experience across international teams and suppliers, and be familiar with scheduling tools including Open Plan or P6.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of planning and scheduling specialists, including work allocations, coaching, mentoring and training;
- Leading the planning strategies and integration across international business units and suppliers;
- Working with campaign and programme teams to develop planning artefacts including WBS, RAM, High level flow, Master Summary Schedule, Master Assumptions list;
- Creating and maintaining integrated schedules to meet the programme requirements;
- Undertaking Schedule risk analysis and applying schedule risk reserve;
- Producing metrics for schedules and change activities across the lifecycle of a programme and providing analysis and insights for decision making;
- Identifying, analysing and reporting performance variances to management and working with teams to develop performance recovery plans and incorporating recovery plans where appropriate;
- Working with scheduling experts across the globe to continually improve the planning and scheduling processes, tools and training.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in leading a team
- Experience in programme and project planning and scheduling
- Exposure to international suppliers, stakeholders and teams
- Familiarity with scheduling tools including Open Plan or P6, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint
- PMI Scheduling Professional certification preferred
- Great communication skills
- Great organizational skills
- Attention to detail
